IBPS Banking Exams

IBPS, an autonomous body, to conduct the recruitment process, once a year. IBPS will make arrangements for conducting online preliminary examination, declare result of online preliminary examination, inform the shortlisted candidates about the online main examination, declare the results of the main examination and inform the shortlisted candidates about the interview. Interviews will be conducted by the participating organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each state/ UT. Prospective candidates will have to apply to IBPS after carefully reading the advertisement regarding the process of examinations, interview and provisional allotment, eligibility criteria, online registration processes, payment of prescribed application fee/ intimation charges, pattern of examination, issuance of call letters etc. and ensure that they fulfil the stipulated criteria and follow the prescribed processes.

What is IBPS (Pre| Mains) Exam?

1. IBPS Preliminary Exam and,
2. IBPS Mains Examination

For IBPS PO/MT(Probationary Officers/ Management Trainee), IBPS Clerk in participating organizations except RRB’s, IBPS PO/Clerk in RRB (Regional Rural Banks)


Reserve Bank of India (RBI)

The Reserve Bank of India organises exams for recruitment to various positions such as Grade – B Officers and Assistants. The exams are conducted as per their recruitment needs on an all-India basis.

All participants who successfully registered himself/herself in IBPS PO/MT, IBPS CWE CLERK and IBPS PO/Clerk in RRB (Regional Rural Banks) exams they will be firstly fighting with pre-exam (Preliminary) and Shortlisted candidates in preliminary examination will be called for Mains Exam and marks scored in mains exam will be decided for short listing for the interview (wherever applicable). The examination for IBPS PO/MT, IBPS CWE CLERK and IBPS PO/Clerk in RRB (Regional Rural Banks) will be two tiers i.e. the online examination will be held in two phases, preliminary and mains examination. Candidates who will qualify in preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear for Mains examination and shortlisted candidates in the Mains examination will subsequently be called for a Common Interview (wherever applicable) to be conducted by the Participating Organizations and co-ordinated by the Nodal Bank.

IBPS PO/MT Preliminary Exam Syllabus – IBPS Preliminary Exam Pattern

IBPS department schedule PO/MT in two levels Tier 1 and Tier 2. Tier 1 is as preliminary exam and Tier 2 as mains exam. IBPS Pre Exam Pattern contains fewer objective type questions with shorter duration.

Pre-Examination of IBPS exam have some quick and multi-choice questions (MCQ) from both subjects reasoning, English, quantitative aptitude.

IBPS PO Mains Exam Syllabus – IBPS Mains Exam Pattern

IBPS mains exam will have fewer difficult questions than preliminary exams and those who are successfully qualifying in IBPS pre-exam they are called for mains exam. The Tier2 exam harder than Tier1.

Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination) There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.


Cut-off Score (Online main examination)

Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main examination and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for interview. Depending on the number of vacancies available, cut-offs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for interview. Prior to the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the online Main examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview.

NOTE:- MARKS OBTAINED IN THE MAIN EXAMINATION ONLY WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR SHORTLISTING FOR INTERVIEW AND ALSO FOR FINAL MERIT LISTING


INTERVIEW

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the main examination for CWE PO/MT-VI will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from authorised IBPS website http://www.ibps.in/ Please note that any request regarding change in date, centre etc. of interview will not be entertained. However the conducting agencies reserve the right to change the date/ venue/ time/ centre etc. of interview or hold supplementary process for particular date / session / venue / centre / set of candidates at its discretion, under unforeseen circumstances, if any.


IBPS CLERK

Every year IBPS conducts Clerical Exam for the candidates who want to make their career in clerical cadre. Candidates must have prepared well for this exam in order to crack it and score high.

IBPS conducts two exam Preliminary & Mains both the paper pattern is given below:

IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern:
The structures of the Examinations which will be conducted online are as follows:-
IBPS Clerk Prelims paper contains only three papers Reasoning, Quantitative and English Language with time duration of 01 hours those candidates clear it qualify for mains exam. Check marks table.

IBPS Clerk CWE Mains Exam Pattern Basically Common written exam for Clerical cadre have 200 Objective type questions this IBPS Clerks CWE (IBPS Clerk syllabus) Contains 5 sections Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability Test, General Awareness Test & Computer Knowledge.

SBI Clerk 2016 Syllabus

The candidates who have qualified the Prelims Exam of SBI Clerk 2016 will now appear for the Mains Exam. Here, we want to tell the candidates that this year SBI has changed the pattern of Mains Exam of SBI Clerk 2016. There will be a fixed time for each section and the candidates will have to complete their test within the stipulated time-frame. As told earlier, there will be four sections in SBI Clerk Mains 2016 viz General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination:
Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 sections as follows:

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing passing marks to be decided by the Bank. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 20 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.


Phase – II: Main Examination:
Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks.

Objective Test: The Objective Test of 2 hours 40 minutes duration consists of 4 sections for total 200 marks. The Objective Test will have separate timing for every section. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
